I had indeed updated this package in the meantime, via TeXLive-utility, and the bug reappeared. Restoring the older MacTeX-2012 version of this package definitely cleaned up the mess.

Howdy,

Strange... I'm completely up to date---ran TeX Live Utility this AM---and I didn't have a problem compiling your sample document. I'm using unicode-math version 0.7a and compiling with LuaLaTeX.
