I just compiled a 14 page document in one of my DropBox folders that includes quite a few graphics images, etc., and didn't notice any specific slowdown. However I don't have much in my DropBox so syncing goes pretty quickly.

I certainly did not mean there's problems with ladexmk; nonetheless, is it possible to put a script in the latexmk engine to tell Dropbox to sync only after everything is done? I am using TeXShop.

I see that behavior too. However I'd imagine that DropBox throttles the sync when there is other activity on the system. I'd bring this up with the DropBox folks and see if there is some sort of solution on there end. Log in at the DropBox Forums at <https://forums.dropbox.com> and leave a message there.
