Let look at MathJax model: it is not a full blown TeX and it handles
only math snippets. However all snippets on webpage are connected and
macros introduced in one of them work in all and auto-numbering is
going through and \label-\ref mechanism works (creating links).
Anything less than this makes iBooks not very suitable even for a demo
math book
