[OS X TeX] PDFs with gradient mesh applied don't appear

Howdy,

Attached is a .tex file. If you compile it with pdflatex PDFKit has a problem (all displays) displaying the gradient. If you compile it with latex PDFKit displays the correct gradient. I believe someone sent this file to this list quite a while ago and the PDFKit problem persists.
