[OS X TeX] PDFs with gradient mesh applied don't appear

Thank you everyone. I am finally getting back to this after some other things came up late on Friday and that kept me busy all weekend. I just tried the source Victor shows above and I still do not see the blue shape. This is with a fully updated TeX Live 2012 on a retina MBP running a fully updated OS X 10.8.2. Could it be the graphics card in this machine (I don't see it in Preview either since it also uses PDFKit)?

Anyone else out there have a retina MacBook Pro that can do this simple test?
