[OS X TeX] seeing spurious Japanese TeXLive Utility 0.98.1 update message

When opening TeX Live Utility ver. 0.98, I'm getting a "new version of 
TeX Live Utility is available" pop-up for version 0.98.1 but with the 
buttons in Japanese -- despite the "Changes Since 0.98" and message 
"Fixed Sparkle nibs, so hopefully English users will not see the 
Japanese update message again".
