Howdy,
The front end (either AlphaX or TeXShop makes no difference. I notice that the cite key is now called `Hunt' not just `cite-key'. In TeXshop you should press the F5 key when inside the argument of the \cite command and, assuming that bib file is open in BibDesk, you'll get a list of citations.
