[OS X TeX] TeXLive 2012 cannot find local fonts

Oh my... there is no need to set the path variable at all!!! Can you let me know what
echo $PATH
gives? Assuming there is a /usr/texbin in the PATH please remove the direct reference to the path. I hope you haven't also set things like MANPATH for TeX Live. None of that is needed for a modern TeX Live.
