When it's intel based and has a Core 2 Duo or Core i? or Xeon CPU (64-bit) with at least 2 GB of RAM, then you can update to Snow Leopard (any intel CPU with 1 GB RAM sufficient), Lion, and Mountain Lion as well, presumingly. (http://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/, http://www.tuaw.com/2012/02/16/mountain-lion-drops-support-for-several-older-mac-models/, http://osxdaily.com/2012/02/16/os-x-10-8-mountain-lion-system-requirements/) Bought as new in 2010 should be on the safe side.
