TeXShop 3.06 uses OgreKit that I modified for TeXShop.
This modified OgreKit has some extended features for TeXShop, such as syntax highlighting, command completion, auto completion, and support of Spaces.
Each extended function gets active together with the corresponding TeXShop setting.
If you don't need these features, you can disable them by replacing this modified OgreKit with the original OgreKit.
Here are the steps.

1. Download "TextEdit with OgreKit's Find Panel" from http://web.me.com/oasis/ogrekit/Downloads.html . This zip archive contains TextEdit.app with OgreKit.
2. Copy TextEdit.app/Contents/Frameworks/OgreKit.framework to TeXShop.app/Contents/Frameworks/ by replacing the existing one.
3. Restart TeXShop. Then the OgreKit FindPanel of TeXShop behaves like TeXShop 2.x.
