You could try this---rename that copy of adobe.map to something (minionprocn.map?) that doesn't exist elsewhere in your texmf trees. Then, after disabling your adobe.map, run

updmap --enable Map=minionprocn.map

and if that works, it suggests that there may be a problem setting a full path when using updmap. (It did change substantially with MacTeX 2011.)
