I have no idea of course.

Being basically curious, I googled "LyX templates". Judging by the  
number of responses/examples, it is seems to be a well known issue.

The specific issue of converting templates from LaTeX to LyX seems  
not to have been addressed systematically. But, perhaps, see <http://
