# [OS X TeX] Align in enumerate

Thu Mar 17 00:26:49 CET 2011

All,

If I am in an enumerate environment, is it possible to start an align* environment?

This didn't work:

\item However, the graph of $y=-3$, being a horizontal line, has slope zero. Also note that the $y4-intercept of this graph is$(0,-3)$. If we substitute these numbers into$y=mx+b, we get: \begin{align*} y&=mx+b &&{\color{darkred}\text{Slope-intercept form.}}\\ y&=0x+(-3) &&{\color{darkred}\text{Substitute:0$for$m$,$-3$for$b\$.}}\\
y&=-3
&&{\color{darkred}\text{Simplify.}}
\end{align*}
