Greetings, I have just seen this thread and wanted to let you know that biber
0.8.3 has just been released. There are now binaries for 32-bit OSX which
run on 10.5 and 10.6 (and also a pure 64-bit binary for 10.6 ). They are
available on SourceForge

biber has been removed from TLContrib as it is now in TexLive proper. The
new OSX binaries may not be completely mirrored in the TL updater yet
however.
