[OS X TeX] Differing PDF output on similarly configured Macs

Greetings OS X TeX folk,
I am having trouble figuring out why I'm getting funky PDF output on my Macbook air when I use a custom package (jp.sty) together with pgfpages (*not* pdfpages). I also have an iMac. Both are running the latest versions of Snow Leopard and TeXLive 2010. The purpose of jp.sty is to produce nice 2 page per sheet PDF output. It works flawlessly on both my iMac and on the Linux box that I use mostly as a server. The output from my iMac can be seen here:

For reasons I have not been able to diagnose, my (as far as I can tell) identically configured Air produces a grotesque transmogrification of this output; the result can be seen here:

Note in particular that I get only every other page printed and the page itself is oddly placed and has a good chunk cut off at the bottom. Note also that the missing pages appear to be jumbled all together on one page at the end. I am not seeing anything unusual in the log file on my Air; it looks pretty much identical to the log file produced on my iMac; I just get the unlovely results noted.
The relevant bits of the preamble are as follows:
\documentclass[fleqn,leqno,twoside]{article}
\usepackage{pgfpages}
\usepackage{jp}
\pgfpagesuselayout{2 on 1 shifted}[border shrink=-1.5in,vertical shift=-.35in,horizontal shift=.175in,in shift=.25in]
If anyone might have a clue what's going on here, I would greatly appreciate it.

ps: On the off chance that someone is really that interested, I've also attached the 4KB jp.style file.
