[OS X TeX] incompatibility between dvipdfm and PNG images

Looking into the LOG of your XeLaTeX run: in dvipdfm(x) mode included/ 
inserted PNG graphics files need to be accompanied by a BB file  
contain the Boundary Box of the image. the ebb utility creates it.

OTOH, using the real XeTeX mode no such thing is needed, and even  
hyperref won't complain that it is now switching to '`hxetex.def' for  
XeTeX'.
