This is what I do when I want to do this: With command-F I open the Find pannel and set the strings XXX and YYY. Instead of hitting the Next button (or is it Search ? I have it in Spanish), I hit "carriage return". This closes the Find pannel and jumps to the source window, where the first appearance of XXX is found and dully highlighted. If I want to replace it with YYY, I hit command-alt-G, which does the replacement and finds the next appearance. If I don't want to replace it, I just hit command-G and the next appearance is found. This is fairly practical and requires almost no mouse usage.

Hope it helps,
