Temporarily you can set English as first language in the System  
Preferences. When you then launch TeXShop, it'll be in English.

Ctrl-Cmd-E is rather "international". Pressing this three keys should  
produce the same on German and on US keyboards. If you want to change  
the key layout you also launch a floating or virtual keyboard, once  
you enable it in System Preferences. This way you would see the actual  
layout.
