[OS X TeX] Configure TeXshop to directly work from a .asy file?

Another glitch is that adding the line:

%!TEX TS-program = Asymptote

at the top of the .asy file introduces the error:

Processing triangle
triangle.asy: 1.2: syntax error
error: could not load module 'triangle.asy'
