[OS X TeX] Miscellaneous Questions

We assume you have in-text citations that point correctly to the  
references in your bib file.

When you say that your references do not show up what do you mean,  
that there are no in-text citations or now references list?
What have you included as the bibliography style and what formats for  
the citations?
What did you put into the preamble to tell LaTeX what bib-style you  
are using?
Assuming you done these things you will probably have received error  
messages when you ran LaTeX, what are they?
How many times did you run LaTeX, did you LaTeX -> BiBTeX -> LaTeX ->  
LaTeX?
