After installation 2009 (frozen) 2.44GB
2010 2.62 GB
bin in 2009 contained only universal-darwin 96.4 MB
in 2010 contains universal-darwin 145 MB (new binaties) and x86_64-darwin 75 MB

The first time I ran TeX Live Utility (almost?) all of the binaries were updated from the repository (yes, that can be done although it has never been done with a released MacTeX) even though they were up to date. I suspect it is a one time thing. Everything seems to work at this end.
