I don't think it is --- texbin is a symlink to the TeX distribution mechanism, but the ``directory'' texbin/ is a symlink to the directory which has the active binaries, six levels below root. This is what I get with a perfectly working TL 2009 distribution (updated until frozen):

ls -l /usr/texbin
lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  63 Mar 12 12:22 /usr/texbin -> ../Library/TeX/Distributions/.DefaultTeX/Contents/Programs/i386

ls -l /usr/texbin/
lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  admin  64 Feb 22 01:58 /usr/texbin/ -> ../../../../../../../usr/local/texlive/2009/bin/universal-darwin

Notice also the different dates (which I can't explain).

Justin, maybe you can try opening your ``TeX Distribution'' preference pane, select the MacPorts distribution and then choose back TL 2010.

Best,

Axel
