Just did a full test and re-assigning the keyboard shortcut for ``Show Help for Package...'' (remember that ... is really ellipses not just three dots [like I used here]) to something that won't interfere with any other assignments (I actually used Shift-Ctl-Opt-Cmd-I) does free up the Opt-Cmd-I for assignment to a macro (at least under OS X 10.6).

The only objection I have with Schremmer's statement is that the keyboard assignment was ``gratuitous'' when some thought and consideration when into choosing and asking Dick Koch to make that assignment.

By the way, here's a macro by Mathew Hills called Open Selection. It understands multiple LaTeX commands and implied extensions and you just select the file name in the command and it will find and open the file (assuming the best guess extension) as long as kpsewhich can find it. I've assigned it to Opt-Cmd-O but, since it's just a macro, you can change that easily. The commands it ``understands'' and assumed extensions are:

\includegraphics .pdf
\includeonly .tex
\include .tex
\input .tex
\bibliographystyle .bst
\bibliography .bib
\usepackage .sty
\documentclass .cls
\cfig .pdf
\RequirePackage .sty

I don't think this is in the standard set.
