[OS X TeX] TL 2009 - problems with tlmgr --gui

tlmgr --gui

on Mac (SL 10.6.1) returns an error

no event type or button # or keysym at
/Library/Perl/5.10.0/darwin-thread-multi-2level/Tk/Widget.pm line

 at /usr/local/texlive/2009/texmf/scripts/texlive/tlmgrgui/tlmgrgui.pl line 71
Compilation failed in require at /usr/texbin/tlmgr line 3013.

Note that Tk.pm is compiled and installed and texdoctk works perfectly
This is Mac specific as on x86_64-linux/  tlmgr --gui  works perfectly

Yes, I know about and use TeXLive Utility but this problem needs to be
resolved amyway
