Hi, Pete. Thanks for your reply.

*I just tried this*

\begin{pspicture}(8,6.5)
   \rput(2,3){\fontsize{0.5in}{0.7in}\fontfamily{times}\selectfont X}
\end{pspicture}

*But I get this*

LaTeX Font Info: Try loading font information for OT1+times on
input line 19
36.
LaTeX Font Info: No file OT1times.fd. on input line 1936.

LaTeX Font Warning: Font shape `OT1/times/m/n' undefined
(Font) using `OT1/cmr/m/n' instead on input line 1936.

LaTeX Font Warning: Font shape `OT1/cmr/m/n' in size <36.135> not
available
(Font) size <24.88> substituted on input line 1936.

LaTeX Font Warning: Size substitutions with differences
(Font) up to 11.25499pt have occurred.

LaTeX Font Warning: Some font shapes were not available, defaults
substituted.

What does this mean? How do I overcome this? Also,

> For large sizes cminch was designed...

what is "cminch"? How do I get *real* PS CMR fonts?

Thanks again.

---John.

(Btw, I'm subscribed to the digest.)
