[OS X TeX] Cite a book by its title

Hi,

is there a way to have a citation (of a book) appear in the text with 
the title of the book instead of the author(s)? Instead of something 
like "as it was shown in Smith et al. (1989)" I would like to see, "as 
it was shown in 'book title' (1989)".
I know I can use \defcitealias [with natbib] but I think should a 
direct way to cite the book title, in particular since certain 
reference books (think of the Oxford English Dictionary) don't really 
have an author.
