I tried arrayjob  a bit and it will work but it too will not accept  
numbers in names of commands. For instance,

	\newarray\Chapter13
	\readarray{Chapter13}{A&B&C&D}

does not work. Fortunately,

	\newarray\ChapterXIII
	\readarray{ChapterXIII}{A&B&C&D}

does.

Companion 2ed doesn't say anything about this so I assume that this  
is just something Lamport set and everybody (except me of course)  
just knows about it. Is this in his book?
