Herb,
the current 1.6.5 works fine under Leopard. There had been a problem with Snow Leopard earlier where the autosave feature caused a "fake crash" (a recurring Finder alert stating incorrectly that LyX had crashed). This has now been "fixed" by a workaround, and I've been using LyX 1.6.5 (compiled from source) without trouble on Snow Leopard since early December.
Regards,
Jens

The 1.6.4 version of Lyx came in two versions; one for Panther->Leopard (1.6.4.1) and one for Snow Leopard (1.6.4.2). The new version only comes as 1.6.5 but there is a disclaimer on the download page, <http://www.lyx.org/Download>, saying it is not for Snow Leopard. I don't know if this statement is just a left-over from the previous version(s) or is still true. If the latter it would be nice to know if/when a Snow Leopard version will be forthcoming. This is so the MacTeXtras distribution can be updated.
