No. You need to do much more. Fink's teTeX etc. has its commands in / 
sw/bin and not in /usr/bin. A wizard or real specialist can change  
these defaults.

The TeX Distribution preference pane is not needed to handle more  
than one TeX installation.


 From Fink you can get teTeX 3.0 and pTeX 3.1 and XeTeX 0.996 and  
more (pdfetex 1.21a, based on TeX-3.141592 and eTeX-2.2, LaTeX2e  
<2003/12/01>, ConTeXt version 2005.01.31). This isn't so bad. And you  
can add and not add many things in a flexible way.
