Thanks, Victor. You've actually told me what I need to know. If it has
been around for a few years then I'm simply not observant. (I tend to
look at the Console carefully when something is "critical" but
evidently still failed to notice this on similar occasions in the
post.) In particular, it must have been in TL 2007. Therefore, if I
process without the work around, I won't find anything unexpected -
whatever functionality is missing, I must be used to not having it and
won't, therefore, miss it on this occasion.
