Wanting to use tlmgr, I tried to follow Victor's recommendation, but
failed:

% tlmgr --help
Can't locate TeXLive/TLPOBJ.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /opt/tlpkg /opt/

I have little doubt that I'm running texlive 2008; here is the first
line of a log file:
This is pdfTeXk, Version 3.1415926-1.40.9 (Web2C 7.5.7)
(format=pdflatex 2008.8.22) 6 SEP 2008 07:47

My system:
System Version:	Mac OS X 10.5.4 (9E17)
   Kernel Version:	Darwin 9.4.0

So can anyone suggest how I can install tlmgr properly?
