[OS X TeX] Texmaker(1.7.1) on my mac(10.5.5) : spellcheck not working

Hi I'm having trouble configuring Texmaker(1.7.1) on my mac(10.5.5).

I downloaded en_US.oxt from
http://extensions.services.openoffice.o ... my/term/88

and placed it at /Library/Dictionaries/

had /Library/Dictionaries/en_US.oxt as my spell dictionary path in preferences.

But the spell check doesn't seem to work :(

P.S: I have also installed hanspell v 1.2.7 in my mac by running
./configure make and make install
$ which hunspell
/usr/local/bin/hunspell
