[OS X TeX] simpdftex and spaces in filenames

Yes! The printf removes all spaces because ${basename} is not written  
as "${basename}" ...

The problems seem to be that Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5) has a faulty or  
different echo or printf and that the author of simpdftex does think  
further. It's really no problem to check the OS and then decide to  
either use echo or printf or an appropriate syntax in every known OS  
case.
