[OS X TeX] [OT] Embedding fonts in images

Actually, the very last paragraph on that document says that this  
won't work in my case. This article discusses embedding the fonts  
used in the text. This does not help with having the fonts embedded  
in the images. It's those fonts that are problematic, not the fonts  
used in the tex file. Unless I've misunderstood things, Richard's  
article is addressing a somewhat different issue. My updmap.cfg does  
include the line "pdftexDownloadBase14 true
", which is I think what makes pdflatex embed the fonts used in the  
text.
