I've been using Apples since the days of system 7, but apparently, my little Mac has a lot of stuff inside I haven't heard of. It's the downside of "ease of use": you drive the screw without knowledge of the driver's alloys. When I move to Leopard I'll buy one of those books and find out one or two things.

Given http://www.tug.org/mactex/src/Documentation/Starting%20Off/Introduction%20to%20LaTeX/lshort/spanish.zip seems to date back to September 2005, there's no need to download, you can just use the version already in MacTeX-2007 at
/usr/local/texlive/2007/texmf-doc/doc/spanish/lshort-spanish/ldesc2e.pdf
I couldn't find the adress given above, but looking around texlive I found it in
http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/info/lshort/spanish/
and it is now up and running.
It's a path on your disk, you can access it in three ways:
- In the Finder, using Go > Go To Folder (Cmd-Shift-G) then entering
/usr/local/texlive/2007/texmf-doc/doc/spanish/lshort-spanish
and selecting ldesc2e.pdf.
- In the Finder, navigate to
/Library/TeX/Documentation/texmf-doc-doc/spanish/lshort-spanish/ldesc2e.pdf
- Use the URL
file:///usr/local/texlive/2007/texmf-do
