[OS X TeX] Embedding Type 1 fonts into both ps and PDF file

Hard to see why you wouldn't have access to Adobe Reader which has that 
information in its File->Properties menu.

Otherwise you can use the pdffonts command that comes with xpdf. Install 
it with Fink or download it here
