Exactly the same installation on OSX 10.4.11 (one a G4, the other
Intel). The only difference is that Ulysses was updated - but that
should not interfere with the TeX-installation at all afaik.

I tried it with a minimal file, but to no avail—until I tried it with an
even more minimal file and it worked! But there is a point at which it
does not work - I'll have to figure that one out more closely. One thing
had to do with Ulysses (a footnote reference DLDL had to be replaced by
dldl ?), but more experimenting is called for.
