[OS X TeX] Grapher.app and LaTeX Equations

I'd much prefer to see this as:

   y = \tfrac12 x \times \sqrt{x}

or simply   y = \tfrac12 \sqrt{x}

with the \tfrac  macro from  \usepackage{amsmath} .

It's not really good LaTeX, so some work still needs to be done on
that part of it. Certainly it is a decent way to get plots quickly.
