I guess you use  "TeX and Ghostscript", and thus dvips, to process  
your document? And do you use the A4 format for them? Then dvips may  
be not configured for a4 documents

In that case,  enter "sudo texconfig dvips paper a4" in your  
terminal, and see if that solves your problem…
