Well, I downgraded mine several times on two machines, just to test  
the infrastructure updates, so you're off the hook for that :).

One thing I found is that the binkerton.com mirror doesn't let me  
download the update script:

http://ctan.binkerton.com/systems/texlive/tlnet/2008/update-tlmgr-latest.sh

So I added some log messages when the download is too small, but I'm  
not happy with the situation.  Better ideas are welcome.

Any version downloaded before I posted to this list (0.2?) didn't have  
Sparkle embedded.
