[OS X TeX] Question about MacTex

Hello,
I'm new to the list. I have installed recently MacTex on my mac and
everything works great, except that I have to store all my .tex files
under one folder. If I have sub-folder (e.g. with all the files
relevant to some project), Texshop tells me it can't find some of
my .sty files (particularly, gb4e.sty) and some of my .bst files. I
tried to copy the .sty file to:
/usr/local/texlive/2007/texmf-dist/tex/latex
but this didn't help. I also created a texmf folder on my home
directory, that's not helping either.
Does anyone know what's going on? I'd really like to have my .tex
files organized.
Many thanks,
Itamar.
