No, this definitely is *not* correct! What you report as a gwTeX
error is exactly *your* work. Proof: the same region cited from
inside the archive:
# Y&Y's Lucida Bright and Lucida New Math supporting "Berry"-style
# tfm names (commercial fonts):
#! Map lucidabr.map
#! Map lumath.map
# Y&Y's Lucida Bright and Lucida New Math supporting "Y&Y"-style
# tfm names (commercial fonts):
#! Map lucidabr-o.map
#! Map lumath-o.map
(There *is* good reason not to edit updmap.cfg directly. For example
no feedback from faults.)

Those MAP file fragments that use the texnansi encoding for a font
are definitely not in Karl Berry style but rather Y&Y.

Because there is no lucida.map file, as mentioned weeks ago. And why
do you write "lucidabr.map" and then try to enable "lucida.map?"

Which is, again, your work.

UNIX is user friendly, it's just picky about who its friends are.
