[OS X TeX] Duplicate texi* executables on Leopard

I have Leopard installed (Archive+Install) and the MacTeX texlive
distribution and R. And more things obviously but those probably don't
have anything to do with the issue discussed here.

After the version control discussion I decided to compare the contents
of /usr/bin with my /usr/bin on Tiger.
I noticed things like texi2pdf in /usr/bin

As far as I know, the MacTeX distribution does not install binaries
except in /usr/texbin or where that points to.

I have run ls on /usr/bin with the following result

[~]: ls -alT /usr/bin/texi*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 28218 24 Sep 04:12:55 2007 /usr/bin/texi2dvi
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 557096 24 Sep 03:48:03 2007 /usr/bin/
texi2html
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 660 24 Sep 04:12:55 2007 /usr/bin/texi2pdf
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 102048 24 Sep 04:12:55 2007 /usr/bin/texindex

The same on /usr/texbin

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 28899 28 Dec 01:09:08 2005 /usr/texbin/
texi2dvi
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 617029 20 Jan 02:09:23 2007 /usr/texbin/
texi2html
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 660 28 Dec 01:09:08 2005 /usr/texbin/
texi2pdf
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 26620 15 Jan 02:21:45 2007 /usr/texbin/
texindex

Anyone have any idea what's going on here?
Where does the texi* things in /usr/bin come from?

Berend
