[OS X TeX] TeXLive issue

Howdy,

Did you install TeX Live 2007 directly or via the MacTeX installer?  
If the latter you should set TeXShop->Preferences->Engine path to  
binaries preference to

/usr/texbin

rather than the actual path since updates to 2008 or changing to  
gwTeX will change that symbolic link so nothing will have to be done  
in TeXShop in the future.

I don't understand this at all! I can't believe that pdflatex is in  
the same directory as the file you want to compile.

It means the pdflatex is simply a symbolic link to pdftex. That is  
normal since pdftex looks to see how it is executed (e.g., with the  
name pdflatex) to determine what format to use by default and whether  
to produce dvi or pdf dirtectly.
