I guess you mean BibDesk. If so: There's little to learn about
BibDesk which will help you with the format of your bibliography.
BibDesk is "just" a database for bibtex files, it has no influence on
how your document looks (Don't get me wrong, it's a terrific, it just
isn't a bibtex style). Biblatex, on the other hand, is a bibtex style
which is highly configurable. It basically handles all bibtex
formatting over to LaTeX which means a level of flexibility and ease
of use no other bibtex style has.
