Did you also take the step before the last step? This is either to  
get and install Xcode (with compilers and libraries and SDKs) or to  
install Fink to be able to install binary packages, i.e. those that  
don't need a compiler? And did you also go the step before this step:  
install the X11 user package on Tiger (last year, in November, an  
update was available from Apple)?
