[OS X TeX] gastex

I've got the problems with gastex package solved (without knowing what 
were they). It seems that typesetting from *TeXShop* did (activated) 
something, so that afterwords, typesetting from *Emacs* became successful 
(or may be my MacBook Pro and I are hallucinating after so many tests...) 
More precisely:

1. I noticed and deleted a gastex.pro in the local directory of the files 
using gastex. This solved the problems only partly (I tested 3 files 
with varying success).

2. In a round of switches between gwTeX and TeXLive-2007, by typesetting 
from *Emacs*, gastex worked only with gwTeX (and gastex package in 
~/Library/texmf/tex/latex), but not in TeXLive-2007 (with its own 
gastex, while my ~/.../gastex moved away).

3. (Somehow accidentally, by getting absolutely angry :) I did a round of 
typesetting from *TeXShop*: successfully with gwTeX and TeXLive-2007.

4. The following typesettings from Emacs became successful in both gwTeX 
and TeXlive-2007.

5. I did the tests with 3 different tex files using gastex. One of them 
typesets successfully just with the command LaTeX; two of them only with 
simpdftex. May be some of the drawing commands that I use in the files 
require going through dvips (although under some rough inspection I could 
not find such differences).

My today's descriptions were quite messed up (as an excuse: I did quite 
many tests with other downloads, installations, etc.): so again, accept my 
apologies. But the problems with gastex were exactly as I described them last
night. They persisted until I did the above rounds. I wonder what was 
that, because it may reappear with the upcoming upgrades or with more 
tex files.
