[OS X TeX] TeXShop find panel woes

Dear all,
I use TeXShops OgreKit find panel. It refuses to find strings  
beginning with a backslash (\). If I search for e.g. \hfill I get no  
hits, whereas hfill finds all my hfills.
I guess something is broken here. Any ideas?
