The thing is that I had really no idea what it did and was totally
intimidated. But, you are right, I should have tried it.

I just tried it and first got

! Package sourcetime Error: pdfTeX >= 1.30.0 required.

But then, on repeatededly hitting return, I got:

    tx.pdf¿0 tx.pdf Zip.javatx.pdf¿0 Zip.java
    J¨ungste Quelle: 7. Januar 2007.

Not bad since I am still on TeXShop 1.43 on 10.3.9 and so, most
probably, my pdfTeX < 1.30.0.

Now, the question is, can I upgrade pdfTeX, I mean without touching
anything else? Considering the current turmoil and given that, right
now, I can't afford any downtime, it looks as if 'Oberdiek's "luxury"
block' is indeed a luxury I cannot afford. But, when Leopard come on and
I upgrade to Tiger, I hope that the currrent dust will have settled and
I will have a date with Oberdiek—hopefully including a final "y" but I
will settle for whatever.

Grateful regards
