So is TeXShop now working with the simple string "/usr/texbin" and  
you did not change to "/usr/texbin/" with an extra slash at the end  
to make it work?

There's something the technicians need to learn from the artists. If  
it isn't aesthetically pleasing, it's probably wrong.
